Freiburg stands on the horizon in a way none of the towns you've visited before have. Its gray brick walls, clean and smooth, stand well over twenty feet tall. As you approach the gateway arch, the road goes from stony dirt, to gravel, to cobblestone.
You see buildings in every direction, and roads carefully laid out in a grid. Towards the south, the spires of the university peek above the other roofs. In front of you, a mass of shops and stalls cover every block. You've heard the din of crowds, smelled the odor of animals, and seen bustling streets before, but unless you've been particularly well-traveled, not at this scale.

Kaspar is slightly portly, but very well-dressed. He wears a dark auburn suit, perfectly tailored, with frills along the sleeves and collar. A matching wide-brimmed hat sits perched atop his head.
In Eveninglow 1732, he is in The Haile to negotiate some loans with The Library for the University of Freiburg. He meets the adventuring party at the Obon Festival, and hires them to take a load of artifacts and tomes to Freiburg.
